Jenny Bates, Rotary District 5150

Jenny has been a member of Rotary since 2009 and caught the Rotary enthusiasm after serving as Camp Director for Camp Royal (RYLA) and leading a Group Study Exchange team to Brazil.  This enthusiasm led her to serving as President of East Fresno Rotary 2014-2015 in District 5230.  Since moving to District 5150 area, Jenny jumped right into Rotary service and is a proud member of San Rafael Evening Rotary Club.  She has held numerous roles since moving which include District Youth Chair, RYLA Co-Director, Assistant Governor, President Elect Training Seminar Faculty and is currently serving as Chief of Staff for the 2021-2022 year serving under District Governor Danielle Lallement.
 
In her professional life, Jenny is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has her own therapy and training business called Waves of Change Recovery Services and helps those who are experiencing mental health and addiction issues.  She has twenty-five years working in the field and is recognized as one of the leaders in her profession. Jenny is a National Network Trainer for Motivational Interviewing and has incorporated these principals into her Rotary life and has created numerous workshops to assist members in learning the art of motivational interviewing to increase Rotarian engagement.
 
In her free time Jenny enjoys going on adventures with her wife Laine and their dog Buddy.  She also enjoys the days where she has the time to play a little golf, hang out at the beach or play a little poker.
