Dear 2008-2009 Rotary Club Presidents:

On behalf of the Far West PETS Operating Committee and our nine District Governors-elect, welcome to your Multi-District Rotary Club President training seminar!

Our highly inspired team has a singular purpose: to prepare each of you for the Rotary Leadership Challenge that commences July 1, 2008. The Far West PETS program provides orientation and training to help you understand your role and responsibilities as Club President; improving your skills and knowledge, motivating each of you to:

• Sustain and grow your Club’s membership;

• Implement successful service projects that address the needs of your communities and communities in other countries;

• Support Your Rotary Foundation through financial contributions and program participation; and

• Develop leaders capable of serving in Rotary beyond the Club level.

Our six interactive courses of instruction present a broad “How To”: set goals and implement plans for your year, inspire your membership, run a meeting, prepare your Club leadership, administer Club operations, develop your basic understanding of The Rotary Foundation, locate and use resources, participate in the Programs of Rotary, and much more. 

Our keynote speakers include RI President Elect D.K. Lee, Past RI President Cliff Dochterman and Past RI President Rick King and other notable Rotarians; throughout the weekend each of them will touch your hearts as they share their personal experiences.

Friday and Saturday evenings, we invite you to join in the fellowship and fun in the Hospitality suites; it’s a wonderful opportunity to share ideas and thoughts with approximately 450 of your newest friends.

Dream LARGE! For as Eleanor Roosevelt reflected, “the world belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Make the most of your seminar weekend and accept the Leadership Challenge; each of you will make the difference in your Club, your community and the world.
